When a Loud, Shaking Washing Machine Turned Into a Quiet, Reliable Fix
Sometimes, the most satisfying repairs are the ones that bring a home back to normal in a noticeable way.
That was the case with this washing machine repair. Our client reached out after her washer started making an awful noise and shaking hard during operation. In the video she sent, the machine was moving back and forth by about six inches, so it was clear the issue needed attention.
Jacob Dostaler, The Creative Repairman, worked to make sure the machine was working the way it should again. What started as a loud, unstable washer became one that ran so quietly our client had to check and make sure it was still on while doing laundry.
How the Washing Machine Went From Noisy to Quiet
Step 1: Test and diagnose the cause of the noise and movement
Our client sent a video of the washer in action, which made it easier to see how the machine was behaving. From there, Jacob researched the issue and took a closer look at the parts most likely affecting the washer’s balance and movement.
Step 2: Repair and replace the worn internal components
The repair began with replacing missing baffles and relubricating the suspension rods. When that did not fully solve the issue, Jacob dug deeper and determined the washer needed a more complete bushing repair. He ordered a full replacement kit, removed the agitator tub, and replaced the worn internal components. The agitator plate was also replaced as part of that process. During testing, one additional issue showed up with the lid lock mechanism, so that part was replaced as well.
Step 3: Get the washing machine running smoothly again
With the repairs complete, the washer was fully operational again. The loud noise was gone, the shifting had stopped, and it was running so quietly that the homeowner checked to make sure it was still on.
Why Repairs Like This Matter
Sometimes the value of a repair is not just in fixing the immediate problem, but in making everyday life feel normal again. A washing machine that is loud, unstable, or unreliable adds stress to a routine people count on, which is why it matters to solve the issue the right way.
In this case, the difference was easy to notice. What started as a washer that shook hard and made a terrible noise became one that ran so quietly the homeowner checked to make sure it was still on. That kind of result is what makes a repair feel worthwhile.
Here’s what the client had to say:
“For the past year, my washer would shake and make a loud banging noise every time the spin cycle came on. It got so bad that I started going to the laundromat. Jacob came over, figured out what it needed, ordered the parts, and fixed it. Now it’s so quiet that I catch myself checking on it, even during the spin cycle. It feels like a brand-new washing machine.”
That kind of feedback is what makes a repair like this so worthwhile. It was not just about fixing a noisy washer, but about restoring something the homeowner could depend on every day.
